The Communist Youth League Committee of QMES Successfully Held the 2023 Commendation Conference and the May Fourth Study Session

On May 19th, to commend excellent students and student cadres who have performed well in the construction of the Youth League branch and the study of innovative theories of the Communist Party in the past year, set a benchmark and inspire young students to work hard and courageously on the new journey, as well as make unremitting efforts for a better future, the Communist Youth League Committee of QMES held the 2023 Commendation Conference and the May Fourth Study Session in the lecture hall on the second floor of the school. Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee; Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES; Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the QMES Party Committee; Huang Quanzhang, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee of QMES; secretaries of various Communist Youth League branches; and representatives of outstanding Communist Youth League members attended the commendation conference. The conference was hosted by Yang Liu, Secretary of the Communist Youth League branch of 2022 Polymer Materials and Engineering undergraduates.

In the first item of the conference, Huang Quanzhang, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of QMES, summarized the work of the Youth League Committee in the previous year. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the advanced individuals and groups who won the May Fourth commendation and showed his heartfelt gratitude for the care and guidance of the superior leaders as well as the hard work of all teachers and students. While affirming the achievement, he delivered a serious analysis of the existing shortcomings, proposed the key work of the Communist Youth League Committee in the future, and further clarified the determination to follow the Party. Focusing on learning the spirit from the reply of General Secretary Xi Jinping to the letter from students at the China Agricultural University, Huang required everyone to move forward steadily, accumulating small steps to reach a thousand miles.

“The power of role models is infinite.” In the second item of the conference, Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES, and Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, presented 7 awards including “May Fourth Red-Flag Communist Youth League Branch,” “Advanced Communist Youth League Branch,” “Cadre of the May Fourth Red-Flag Communist Youth League,” “Model of the May Fourth Red-Flag Communist Youth League,” “May Fourth-Most Beautiful Secretary of the Communist Youth League,” “Outstanding Communist Youth League Cadre” and “Outstanding Communist Youth League Member” to 86 outstanding students and 5 advanced classes. It is hoped that through this advanced recognition, students will be inspired to emulate the role model so that the work of the league committee could reach a new level.

The third item of the conference was to commend the award-winning individuals for the activity of “Preparing for the 20th CPC National Congress and Striving to be a Good Party Member,” and the presenter of the award were Fan Xiaoli, Dean of QMES, Cheng Yin, Deputy Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, Huang Quanzhang, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of QMES. The winners were Zhu Zixuan, Zhou Yibo, Zhao Guanpeng, Song Jingyi, and others who achieved excellent results in the previous year’s theory learning competition and essay contest. The enduring applause in the venue was the greatest encouragement to the winners.

“Learning new ideas, and striving to be the new youth.” The online-themed group class of Youth University Learning is currently underway. In order to encourage students to participate more in online classes, the fourth item of the conference was to commend the advanced collectives of “Youth University Learning”, including the Youth League branches of QM012102, QM012106, and QM022206. Huang Quanzhang presented the awards to the representatives of the classes.

On the long journey of life, it is particularly important to persevere and ultimately achieve results. The fifth item of the conference was the experience sharing by Li Liangchen, an advanced individual. He introduced his study method and working experience during his school years and expressed his expectations for the juniors. His experience sharing gave great inspiration to the students and made them feel very encouraged.

In the sixth item of the conference, Huang Quanzhang issued an appointment letter to the student cadres of the Youth League Committee. He mobilized everyone to devote themselves to their future studies and work with new ideas and a spirited mental state. The school will further create a better atmosphere for education, promote the university spirit of “Strong Preparation, Diligent Effort, Practical Attitude, and Creative Innovation”, and carry out the educational policy of pursuing solid foundation, practical work, simple style, and pioneering and innovative spirit to the end.

In the end, Dai Fuping, Secretary of the QMES Party Committee, delivered a concluding speech. He congratulated the students on their honors and hoped they would cherish the honor and be grateful to their teachers, school, and the times. He encouraged all the students to keep up with the role model, continue to work hard, and be more diligent and responsible in their future studies and work. He wished that they should act bravely, dare to take responsibility and repay their alma school and motherland with excellent results.

The conference was a great success. Students expressed that they have benefited greatly and should follow the role model with more positive actions. The award-winning students denoted their willingness to continue their efforts and strive for progress. Through this commendation conference, everyone acknowledged that as students of NPU, they should carry forward the great spirit of forging a sword for their country and keep on striving. The students should study the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, show the spirit of the young generation in the new era, and contribute their strength to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
